Plastic Spring (Wave Demo)

Description

This light-weight strong plastic spring is more manoeuvrable than the metal SuperSnake so it can be more easily and safely used by students in the air rather than on the ground; friction is therefore less of a factor. Classroom demonstrations are made easier and more visible. Investigations include measurement of the phase of reflected waves, the velocity of transverse or longitudinal waves, determination of the frequency & wavelength of a wave and experiments on standing waves. This spring assists students and improves investigations as its lighter mass requires less effort than heavier metal springs. ‘Wire’ diameter 1.5mm, O.D. 17mm, coiled length 500mm.
