Electromagnet U-Shape with 4mm Terminals

Description

Consisting of two 10mm diameter iron cores inserted into bobbins and wound with copper wire. Each iron core is fixed to an iron rod and a ‘U’ shaped magnet is formed. 4mm socket head terminals permit the connection of either wires or 4mm banana plugs to a 12V DC supply. Two bobbin coils are connected in series and when DC current flows through the coils, one pole becomes a NORTH pole and the other a SOUTH pole. A flat iron ‘Armature’ with a hook closes the circuit.
