Why choose a Delta natural cotton Lab Coat?
Lab coats should be made of 100% cotton or flame-resistant material in labs where open flames are used (such as alcohol and Bunsen burners). Cotton is a renewable and biodegradable resource, which can make it a more environmentally friendly choice compared to polyester, which is a synthetic fiber derived from petrochemicals. Cotton is generally considered to be cooler than polyester in summer because it is a natural fiber that allows air to circulate through the fabric, helping to evaporate sweat and keep you cool.
Polyester-cotton blend fabric is less durable than 100% cotton and may pill or shrink over time. Second, it is not as absorbent as cotton, so it might not be the best choice for hot weather. The big cons of polyester are mostly environmental, such as high energy and water consumption, pollution, and inability to biodegrade. Additionally, some individuals may be allergic to certain dyes or chemicals used in polyester blends. Cotton is a natural fiber and less likely to cause skin irritations or allergies.
