This replacement magnet and dummy mass pair is designed for the Lenz's Law Demonstrator. It includes a falling mass containing a neodymium magnet and a non-magnetic comparison mass, allowing students to observe the difference in falling time when each passes through the compatible aluminium tube.

The magnetic mass descends more slowly because its changing magnetic field induces eddy currents in the aluminium tube. The resulting magnetic field opposes the magnet's motion, providing a clear demonstration of Lenz's law.
